2 Fast 2 Furious star Tyrese and "Lord of the Rings" trilogy star Miranda Otto have joined 20th Century Fox's The Flight of the Phoenix, the action-thriller remake to be directed by John Moore. The cast includes Dennis Quaid, Giovanni Ribisi and Jared Padalecki.
The original film revolved around a plane crash in a North African sandstorm and the efforts of the crew to build a plane from the wreckage. The updated version represents a reinvention of the original, with contemporary circumstances set in the Mongolian desert.
Tyrese will play the plane's tough guy mechanic. Otto will play a geologist.
